1957 Triumph Tiger Cub T20C Competition
She Breathes Again ... a Running
1957 T20C Triumph Tiger Cub!!! This bike was originally purchased used in the UK by a US Air Force (USAF) pilot stationed there for joint training exercises with the Royal Air Force. The pilot was able to ship the bike back to Patrick USAF base here in Florida. She basically sat in a garage since the 1960’s. The USAF pilot’s son acquired her and sold it to the gentleman whom we purchased it from. The gentleman from whom we purchased her is a retired Rolls Royce Aircraft engine technician from the UK and a Triumph enthusiast. He has his own small shop and has rebuilt and raced Triumph motorcycles for many years here in the US. He had done a light “competition” styled restoration on the bike a few years back which included a full top-end engine rebuild new transmission components, and many more things using new parts sourced from UK suppliers specializing in Tiger Cub parts.

When we acquired the bike, the motor had not been run since the rebuild! We basically installed the distributor and got her fired-up. The motor runs nicely as you can see/hear in the videos. We hope to one day pass her along to her next care-taker(s) ... perhaps even help to get her back home to the UK where many folks continue to love, appreciate and enjoy these little Tiger Cubs! Regardless, we just want to see her go to a good home!
She's not the fastest bikes out there but definitely one of the oldest we have ever owned ... and she is still going down the road after 60 years! |
