1978 BMW R100/7 (Airhead) Custom Scrambler Build
Barn Find Turned Bad-Ass Scrambler!
Some good friends of ours found this bike in a barn in Ohio - she sat for several years patiently waiting for her next care-taker. Our friends picked her up and were able to get her fired-up, purchased lots of new parts for her but were not able to find the time to transform her in to their goal: a Cafe Racer. So, we were able to convince them to sell her to BBR ... SCORE! After lots of thought & discussion, we started to feel her vibe - we believe she wanted to be a scrambler ... so, after many weeks of blood, sweat & love poured in to her, the transformation is complete! She runs flawlessly and is truly a wonderful bike to ride with an easy and traditional riding position. Also, with the lower profile seat, it is much easier to touch the ground, even for shorter guys like us! Have a look and let us know what you think! Yeah, the BMW purists will be throwing lots of comments at us down their noses; however, we had to be practical - it would have cost us far more money/time to restore her back to original condition!

We decided to go with a matte clear/finish on the Titanium Metallic color for the tins (all PPG paint/clear) - we believe this combination with the brown seat cover and grips provide a nice balance for the old-school scrambler style/look!
