1989 Yamaha FJ1200 Bad-Ass Brawler

This was definitely a challenging Project for us! 

Our customer, Carl, contacted us over a year ago about the prospect of doing a build for him ... he waited patiently for his turn.  He contacted us again in late 2014 and was able to convince us to take on his project, a 1989 Yamaha FJ1200 that had sat for a long long time!  It was in very rough shape when she arrived at the shop; however, we took on the challenge of transforming her.  As you can see from the photos, she has a unique frame structure that was originally designed to be covered with lots of plastic.  So, in order to keep this within a reasonable budget, we needed to maintain most of the original frame - the subframe and seat pan are all new and redesigned.  We really love how she turned out considering the challenges she posed.  And, with the new jetting/pod-filters/open muffler (and all of the weight we chopped off) she is freakin' fast ... for a 26+ year old machine! 

We unveiled the bike to Carl in April 2015 - he was absolutely blown away (the look on his face was pretty classic) he could not believe it was the same bike!  Expectations "Over-The-Top" Exceeded!!!  Thank you Carl for taking that leap of faith with us, it is sincerely appreciated Brother!!!
