December 2014:
Delivery of the TL1000S Street Brawler to San Diego ... according to the shipper (who has delivered hundreds of custom bikes all over the country), he has never seen ANYONE as excited as Jeff when he set eyes upon his custom ride for the first time since we started the build! This is Jeff's second BBR custom - and once again, it was love at first sight! Now he spend lots of time explaining to curious enthusiasts what she is ... good stuff!!! We also unveiled the KZ1100 Hard -Tail Bobber to Sean ... he was over-the-top cited about his new ride too! Check out their smiles - they say it all! Just reward for all of the blood, sweat and love poured in to these rides over the past several months! We would like to thank these good guys for their faith in our work - and their patience ... they both agree the wait was well worth it!!! Merry Christmas guys!!! ps: We got started on our next build, a 1998 Triumph Thunderbird Sport ... soon to be BBR Cafe Racer (man, that yellow has got to go!).
November 2014:
We got the TL1000S fully assembled and back up to the dyno shop to get her fuller re-mapped to accommodate the new exhaust and the Power Commander III tuner, then shipped her out to our close friend, Jeff in SoCal! He did not get the bike until early December. We continued to make excellent progress on the KZ1100 build ... at the same time, we continued to support our local community by helping some young guys with their troublesome scooter - Jim was able to get them back on the road and ability to commute back and forth to continue their pilot-school curriculum & training at the Merritt Island Airport! Too bad that no other shop was willing to help them out ... sucks that many turn people away because their English is not so good ... bummer.
October 2014:
We completed and unveiled the 2014 Yamaha VStar Bolt to Victor who flew in on October 02 - he loved everything we did to her! He then loaded up his gear and headed North on his way back to NYC through the scenic route! We also continued work on the KZ1100 Bobber Build! We also attended the 2nd annual 2014 AIMExpo (American International Motorcycle Expo) in Orlando, FL - we had a chance to meet and chat with Chisty Lee from All Girls Garage on Velocity ... she is beautiful! Click on her photo to link over to a slide show of the event! One more thing, our good friend and customer Ted took his BBR Custom Desert Military Bike over to the annual Central Florida Car Show in Cocoa Village, FL ... yes, a car show, and his bike took the prize for "Best Specialty" - right on Ted, Congratulations Brother and thanks again for your faith in us and for sharing your trophy with the shop where it is proudly displayed!!! (see pics of the trophy & Ted/his bike below)
September 2014:
We spent a lot of time getting the design elements agreed to on the Bolt Build along with working out the functional aspects of the new design especially around the new seat pan and sub-frame that will be the structure for the new seat pan. We also helped out a friend (and owner of the BBR 1979 Honda CB750 Cafe Racer) to sell his BBR bike ... due to the sporting riding position of this cafe racer combined with his bad lower back, it was time to move her on ... so we put her on ebay for him ... it sold to a good guy in Texas - the Texan is now the proud owner of one of the coolest cafe racers out there ... in our opinion (and many on YouTube agree with us)!
August 2014:
Still busier than a one-legged dude at an ass-kicking contest - and we are blessed for it! We continued to focus on the TL1000S Street Brawler - this build was a ton of work but, man she was well worth the effort! We got all of the parts finally painted and ready for re-assembly! In addition, Victor rode his 2014 Yamaha VStar Bolt down from NYC and handed her over to us for the transformation in to something completely different ... our buddy Jim put her on the dyno so that we could get some "before" numbers!
July 2014:
Another busy month for us ... much of it was spent on getting the TL1000S Street Brawler custom parts fabricated and all design elements worked out. We also got her fully broken down and ready for the paint work ... also had to sit tight for parts to come in. We got started on the KZ1100 Bobber Build. In addition, we helped out some friends with some work they desperately needed - like some welding on our buddy Ron's trailer that carries his 9 sec. 1/4 mi. small block (no nitrous and normally aspirated) 1968 Camaro ... we saw him pull the wheels 4 feet off the ground and still get a 10 sec. run out of her ... a sick car!!! We also had to track down and capture a shop rate as it seems like the shop cats refuse to part-take in such primitive/instinctive activities?!?!
June 2014:
"The Beast of the East", a 1996 GSXR-1100 Street Fighter
We spent most of May and all of June (and part of July) transforming this former sport bike in to a totally bad-ass street fighter! It took us many days of tuning to finally get her dialed in (man, these bikes are really sensitive to air-intake changes once the air-box is removed). She is plenty fast with enough balls to match her aggressive styling! Ido, our customer and now friend, was blown away at the unveil and could not have been happier with the transformation of his previously stock GSXR ... he has renamed her "The Beast of the East". We have uploaded several build photos - just click on the photo to see all of the before/during/after pics along with a YouTube video (Ido is the dude in the middle ... as you can see, he is twice our size - guess it was a good thing that he was happy with the results of our work!).
May 2014:
2014 Vintage Kulture (VK) Round-Up Reunion
We would like to CONGRATULATE (and THANK) Renzo, Joslyn and the entire VK Team for organizing an incredible Round-Up Reunion over at Long Doggers in Rockledge, FL (May 31st)!!! The turn-out was incredible with tons of very cool cars, trucks, buses, bikes and last but definitely not least, people!!! It was great reconnecting with so many good folks that we have not had a chance to catch-up with ... we are already looking forward to the next gathering Renzo - hoping it it soon!!!
Signed/Sealed/Delivered - Honda CB750A Cafe Racer/Urban Brawler!!!
The 1977 CB750A Cafe Racer/URban Brawler was delivered to our customer in New Jersey around mid-May ... he could not be a happier camper!!! The bike fits him perfectly and it was everything he envisioned and more!!! Once again, expectations exceeded - another good guy is now sporting a BBR custom Ride of his own! Thanks again Mo for your faith is us and for giving us the chance to build an awesome machine for you!!! Have fun with her and make sure to keep your eyes on the road ... especially when lots of eyes will be on you (and let's not forget that so many Jersey drivers are nuts ... it's good to know that most of them will hear you coming!!!).
March & April 2014:
We started on two customer builds in March ... a 1977 Honda CB750A Hondamatic and a 1996 Suzuki GSXR1100. The CB750A was being transformed during this time in to a combination Cafe Racer/Urban Brawler styled ride. Our customer (from New Jersey) was inspired by our previous CB750 transformation and made that leap of faith to turn his bike over to us. Another customer contacted us during this time and also took that same leap of faith to have us transform his newly acquired GSXR1100 in to an aggressive/bad-ass street fighter styled machine! The Honda was completed and shipped to our customer in New Jersey in May 2014, we are hoping to complete the GSXR by mid-June 2014! ... more to follow folks!
February 2014:
We spent much of February helping out a few friends with their rides - no major transformation work, just some light welding/fabricating, some painting, some bolt-on parts, some electrical work, etc.
January 2014:
What a crazy month this was ... we spent most of it and a good chunk of February building Daniel's 1998 Yamaha VStar 650 Classic. He wanted her transformed in to a custom bobber with a foot clutch and left-hand suicide shifter ... we had not yet done a hand shift / foot clutch set-up previously; however, we worked through the many challenges/obstacles and fabricated all of the linkage necessary to pull it off! To top this off, Daniel had never ridden a bike with a suicide shifter set-up ... so, we both went through a pretty steep learning curve - his was much more risky than ours! Click on Daniel's photo to check out her story and the photos/video
December 2013:
We spent the month of December focused on Bruno's KZ700 (produced for only one year in 1984 by Kawasaki). She posed many challenges for us but, nothing we could not over-come! She is finished with a gun-metal metallic gray color with lots of black accents and some red pin-striping - then we covered all of the tins with several coats of a PPG Satin Clear! Click on his photo to the left to see her story and along with lots of photos of this build (including a YouTube video of her being fired-up)! Bruno and his family are some of the nicest people we have had the pleasure of meeting and becoming friends with! Thank you for your faith in our work, Bruno!
November 2013:
2013 Holopaw Ural Group (HUG) Rally
Some good friends recently invited us to their 2013 Ural Rally - it is said to be the largest US gathering of Urals in one place! Our friend Gene is the owner of the dealership in Holopaw, FL and sponsors this annual event which continues to grow! A big thank you to Gene and his Family/Friends for hosting this event and for providing us with some incredible memories (and incredible food)! We are already looking forward to next year's event!!! You can contact Gene at 407-892-1901 or go to his website at http://holopawural.com/. And by the way, Gene also happens to be the local Royal Enfield dealer!!! Here are a couple pics of some very cool machines - after speaking with the various owners and giving these Urals a closer look, we now have a much larger appreciation for these machines - very cool (plus, they all have reverse and most have a 2-wheel drive mode that will power the side car wheel - you'll never get one of these babies stuck in the mud or snow)!!! If you are not familiar with these Russian Built Motorcycles, it is worth doing some research and checking them out ... would love to add on of these to out collection for sure ... maybe one day! And if you are really interested in testing out one of these, give Gene a call or drop in and see him - he is definitely "good people" and has several on display at his shop!!!
October 2013:
The American International Motorcycle (AIM) Expo
In case any of our fans missed the first inaugural AIM Expo at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, FL ... we have included a few shots from that week-end (Oct. 18th-20th)! We would like to send a big bike shout out to our friends at Cafe-Moto, Dime City Cycles and Ace Cafe for inviting us out to the Expo to exhibit a couple builds in their custom bike show (loads of incredible machines showed-up) - and another thank you to Tim and Daniel for allowing us to brings their BBR Honda CB750 Custom Cafe Racers out to the show - much appreciated everyone! What an awesome turn-out with over 400 vendors and tons of bad-ass rides! We also had a chance to spend a few minutes talking to Jesse Rooke about his philosophy on custom bikes along with gaining some incredible insight in to the business aspects of the custom bike world! His work is incredible - check out his site and the sick rides he and his team have created! We hope to see all of you at next year's show!!!
September 2013:
THE BBR Bad-Ass Triumph Bobber is mentioned in THE HORSE Magazine!!!
A big shout out to our close friend and loyal BBR customer for taking the time to send some pics and a write-up in to "THE HORSE" Magazine! John, the proud owner of this 2003 Triumph America BBR Bobber, wanted to share with as many folks as he could how cool his transformed bike turned out - especially when compared to her condition when he first brought her to our shop (see pics). His real motivation was to help BBR get some more PR out there in the custom bike builder scene. John, we cannot thank you enough for always having our backs covered man! We sincerely appreciate you Brother!
August 2013:
Just completed: 2001 Honda 750 Shadow Hard-Tail Bobber
We put a ton of hours in to this recent build - you can see all of the before/during/after photos under "The Bikes" tab ... she turned out to be a really nice build with some very clean lines and styling. We hope someone in ebay land agrees with us ... if not, we may just keep her and at her to the growing BBR collection of rides! But then again, we still need to pay the bills so we likely won't be keeping her :-( !!!
July 2013:
Another busy month for the BBR Brothers as we had two customer builds cranking along for June and July ... although they took a couple weeks longer than expected, both of our customers were cool with that and both agreed that the wait was WELL WORTH IT!!! Take a look at these vastly different & unique builds - tons of additional photos and videos available - just double click on each photo below! Thank you for your patience and your trust in us, Daniel and John!
May 2013:
Another Awesome Turn-Out for the Vintage Kulture Monthly Round-Up
A big shout out to Renzo, Chris, Joslyn and the entire Vintage Kulture family for consistently making their monthly Round-Up a growing success - every month, they have more and more custom cars & bikes (of all kinds) showing-up and participating in the event. We have met tons of great people here, many of whom have become our close friends and some have even taken the plunge with us and have become BBR Customers! This is always a great way to spend a Sunday afternoon in Cocoa Village, Florida (1st Sunday of the month) - checking out the latest and greatest creations by folks deep in to the Kustom Bike and Car Kulture! We look forward to the next one ... so, if you folks happen to be in the area on the first Sunday of the month, stop by ... chances are the BBR Brothers will be there!
April 2013:
BBR Unveils Another Customer Ride - KZ1000P Mad-Max / Drag-Bike
Check out that grin on Fred's mug ... yeah man, another successful unveil for the BBR Brothers! Fred brought this bike to us a few months back ... it was in definite need of some very specific TLC. He purchased it as a project bike from someone that had started it but was not quite there ... so we got her as kind of a mid-way project (which often requires more work on our part ... mainly to undo much of what had already been done). After a couple months of blood, sweat, tears then more blood, sweat and tears, she is completed ... she is definitely a head-turner! We just hope Fred gets the right attention with her and not too many light-to-light challenges :-) !!! And if he does, well ... let's just say his Mad-Max ride will be ready! Just hold on Fred when you whack her open :-) !!!
The BBR Shop Crosses Paths With Two More Good People!
March 2013:
As quickly as she came to us, she has left us ...

December 2012 & January 2013:
BBR Renovates & Expands - Getting Ready for an Excellent 2013!!!
To make a long story short, BBR has taken a big step forward - we have bitten the bullet and decided to expand our shop. We guess it is just a bigger 'man-cave' for us ... plus we now have a lot more elbow room for fab-work, storage and everything else we do to these two-wheeled machines. It feels good to be better organized too with a proper parts storage area! And just know that ALL are welcome, not just men as some of our most serious riders/customers/friends (based on hours in the seat) are in fact ladies!!! When you have a chance, please stop by and say hello and check out our bigger digs!!! We were busy in December and January doing lots of painting, wiring, adding lights, moving bikes, building shelves, organizing parts, stacking tires ... man, that is all taxing work - we need to take a break from all of that manual labor and get back to building bikes ;-) !!! Click on the photo to so see some pics of the expanded space ... along with several of our up-coming projects/builds!!!
Two More Customer Black-Ops Bikes Unveiled for December (2012) & January (2013)
November 2012:
Focusing on Two Black-Ops Builds
1986 Yamaha FZX 700 FazerAs our customer was not "in-country" when he committed to a BBR Build, he asked us to find just the right bike for his vision - based on all build requirements, we agreed that this particular ride would make the perfect Black-Ops themed ride for this Warrior! Check out the completed Build on The Bikes tab!
|
1994 Suzuki DR650 Dual PurposeThis is our second build for this customer and now dear friend to the BBR Brothers! He wanted a Black-Ops themed ride with a Survival touch to her ... so, after much discussion, thought and focus, we came-up with a version of this bike that may appeal to most of the "doomsday preppers" out there! Check her out too on The Bikes tab!

October 2012:
2012 ROCK & RIDE Biker Fest of Brevard
Bare Bone Rides was invited to participate in the inaugural Rock & Ride Biker Fest of Brevard hosted by Harry and Debbie at their family owned and operated H&D Roadhouse located in Merritt Island, FL. It was a three day event from Oct. 26th through the 28th (we missed Friday due to Hurricane Sandy) which included two stages and several excellent bands playing some awesome music all week-end, along with a Miss H&D Roadhouse bikini contest, several guest speakers, a bike show, several very cool vendors hawking very cool stuff, some incredible food prepared by our dear friends of American Foods ... along with our friends at Warlock Internet Radio. The BBR gang, with the help of family and several of our friends/customers, were well represented. We were able to bring a few customer rides (thank you folks) to help show the attendees of the event what we are doing over at the BBR Shop! We all had a great time - a bit windy at times but, it was an excellent event that was very well organized by Harry & Debbie, their crew and our good friend, Foxy Moxey Jayme! Take a look at some photos below ... the folks at H&D Roadhouse plan on making this event even bigger for next year!!!
Three Customer Rides Unveiled in October!!!
September 2012:
VIntage Drag Races at New Smyrna Beach Speedway
We gotta send out some big props to our friend Cochise of www.conchisechops.com and his team for putting on a very cool and fun old-school event today! The Vintage Drag Races were a blast to watch ... seeing some of these rat rods, muscle cars, bikes, not so muscular cars, pro-stock ... (you name it, it was racing) get out there and crank it up for the crowd down the speedway straight-away was so freakin' cool ... kind of brought us back to our street racing days back in Philly! We realized we should have had a bike or two ready for this event ... we will definitely get a BBR Build out there for the next one! Lots of people and many of our friends from Vintage Kulture were also in attendance and support of the cause! We hope that Cochise and his team were able to raise some big bucks for the Wounded Warrior Project to which all proceeds from the day were donated!!! You are a good man Cochise doing a good thing for a good cause! Make sure to track down one of the Cochise Chops Magazines ... worth a read for sure! We have included some photos from the day below!
A New Customer - a New Build - a Used 1980 Suzuki GS850 !!!
Ted is a close friend of one of our recent customers (who is now loving his newly transformed BBR Yamaha XS650 Hard-Tail Bobber). He came to us with a recent acquisition (a clean slate so to speak) ... check her out on the right ... a stock Suzuki GS850. Definitely a mechanically sound old-school cruiser with plenty of potential. Ted's vision for her: Transform this beast in to a vintage styled dessert military ride ... she goes up on the BBR Operating Table this month and we are psyched to get started on her. Our first military build was the Yam XV250 Virago ... that bike was Ted's inspiration for taking a leap of faith and handing over some cash and his bike to BBR ... will keep you guys posted on how things go on this build!
August 2012:
Focused onTransforming the "CHiPs" Bike in to something different!!!
She is basically complete and under-going some final dial-in work/test rides to help iron-out any bugs ... there are typically a couple as most folks who do this type of work or own this type of bike already know! Our customer was looking for something "under-stated, subdued (or is a "sub-dude" ;-) and sporty. So far, some of our closest friends & customers have seen this bike as they typically have the opportunity to stop by the shop and say hello while checking out some of the stuff we are working on ... As Jeff is on the "Left" Coast, we will not be able to see his bike until his schedule allows ... which is currently sometime in October so until then, I guess he and all of you will have to sit tight until the unveil! Sorry but, we hope you guys will keep your eyes peeled for this unveil - she is definitely a bad-ass cafe racer with a big personality ... you'll see what we mean soon!!!
1976 Yamaha XS650 Custom Hard-Tail Bobber Build
After some finishing touches on this unique BBR Bobber (we installed some TC Brothers forward controls to improve performance/reliability and at the Owner's request) to get her fully dialed in ... the owner picked-up his new ride and has been wearing a huge grin from ear to ear! We keep in touch with Jeff and he has confirmed to us that this bobber is now his daily commuter - he is definitely smitten with her and can't get enough riding time on her ... and these old school rides need their exercise just like our bodies need to be worked-out in order to maintain top level performance & reliability.
July 2012:
Two New Additions ... a New Customer Build and a Donated Ride!
Art, Thank You for the Donation and for Supporting BBR!!!
A good friend of ours is currently in The United Arab Emirates (Dubai) busy launching his new business - he left behind a 1984 Honda V30 Magna with 6000 original miles - he had loaned it to South Tech Academy in Boyton Beach, FL where the high-school folks in the motorcycle mechanics program could learn about how an older V4 motor works (and how complicated it is to clean the carbs on this machine)! Anyway, Art felt her time there had come to an end and made the generous decision to donate the bike to BBR ... as long as we did something cool with her ... well Art, stay tuned man - we will make her better than she is ... better, faster, stronger - and let's not forget, much cooler too!!!
A New Customer and a New Cafe Racer Build Project
Check out this 1981 Yamaha XS850 Special Triple ... a friend of ours (from Joseph's Big Pharma/Biotech Consulting Days) recently contacted us regarding a bike he was in the process of buying with the hopes of having BBR refine her a bit more towards the style of a traditional Cafe Racer ... the previous Owner had started the process but decided to move on to other things ... and so, Fred picked her up for a great price ... she is now sitting in the BBR waiting room - a place where many bikes patiently sit ... awaiting their turn on the operating table! Hang tight Fred ... her turn is coming-up shortly man!!! Stay tuned ... and thank you Brother for your faith in our work!!!
June 2012:
All the way from the Highways of California: Yes, a true "CHiPs" Build
The transformation is well underway! As we mentioned back in April of 2012, Jeff is a close friend of the shop and lives in California ... he picked-up this beast of a machine at a SoCal CHP Police auction and has shipped it to BBR to have her transformed in to a sick-ass Cafe Racer ... what a cool project this is turning out to be - we knew it would be as it brought the Lang Brothers back to their muscle bike roots having owned several Kawasaki Z1's & KZ1000's - Jim Lang still owns a ZL1000 Eliminator and Joseph still owns a ZL900 Eliminator. During his hell raising days, Jim actually owned/raced an original Turbo Charged Z1R with a larger (more boost) turbo, 1380cc big bore kit, undercut transmission/gears, stretched/raked and running 9's in the quarter mile with street tires (back in the 80's) ... the sport bikes back at that time didn't have a chance against that beast. Anyway, back to Jeff's CHP KZ1000 - she is a fun build for sure!!! No worries Jeff, once we are finished, you will definitely not be mistaken for a CHP Officer on the PCH with this beast of a Cafe Racer!
1976 Yamaha XS650 finds its way to the BBR Shop
Lots of work ahead on this XS650!!!
Let the transformation begin!!! We recently helped a customer source an old school 1976 Yamaha XS650 - kind of a long story on this build. He originally showed-up at our shop with a 1969 Triumph 250 Trophy (old restoration done about 15 years ago) and wanted us to chop her up in to a hard-tail bobber. We just felt it would be sacrilegious to do that to that innocent little Triumph. So, were convinced Jeff to allow us to help him sell her to perhaps a collector and turn the proceeds of the sale towards finding a good platform bike for a hard-tail bobber. It all worked out and we picked-up this XS650 ... the previous owner did a decent job in starting the transformation but, the welding/metal work really needed to be reinforced and cleaned up ... mainly for strength/safety (and some aesthetics). She will definitely make a bad-ass ride after we get through the build! The frame has recently come back from our Powder Coater ... oh yeah, looking good ... reassembly is well under way!
May 2012:
Wounded Warrior Project - Let's Help Our Friends Raise Some Money
Hey Folks - we hope everyone had a wonderful week-end and tried to remember the importance of Memorial Day and the warriors (and their families) that have sacrificed it all to help protect our freedom! Along these lines, some good friends of the BBR Shop have committed to a noble goal of raising $50,000 for the Wounded Warrior Project by riding in the grueling Baja 1000 for 2012. We feel strongly about this cause and wanted to share their story and their efforts with our fans/friends. We urge you guys to help out our friends in anyway you can ... check out their site, buy a tee-shirt, become a sponsor, donate or just share their story with your friends & family ... these are good guys doing a good thing for the right reasons!!! Let's help them reach their goal!!! www.raceforthewounded.com On November 13-17 2012 our friends/veterans will race their motorcycles in the Baja 1000, the toughest desert race in the world, to raise money for wounded US Veterans ... our Warriors. Please donate today and help them reach their goal of raising $50,000 for the Wounded Warrior Project.
1982 Yamaha XJ750 Maxim ... Turned Custom Brat!!!
Steve and his Pop (also Steve) recently came by the shop to pick-up his transformed Yamaha ... she fit him like a glove! He definitely loved what the BBR Team did to her ... and considering the tight budget for this build, she turned out pretty darn sick for sure! We look forward to hearing from Steve as he continues to connect with his new ride and get some hours in her seat! When people say this bike looks like it was made for you, you can actually reply: " It was ... by the Boyz over at BBR in Merritt Island, FL ! " Lookin' Good Brother !!! Get ready to attract some attention with her!!! (... more photos over on "The Bikes" tab)
... and thank you again Steve for taking that leap of faith with us and allowing BBR to transform you ride in to the Bad-Ass Bulldog Brat, sincerely appreciated man!
... and thank you again Steve for taking that leap of faith with us and allowing BBR to transform you ride in to the Bad-Ass Bulldog Brat, sincerely appreciated man!
Yamaha XV250 Vintage Military Build is Back with BBR Thanks to FP&L
Our friend Charles was loving his newly transformed 2001 Yamaha XV250 vintage military style ride and was getting tons of attention with her (while also getting 70+ mpg) ... one dude actually thought it was a Ural (we definitely take that as a huge compliment!). Anyway, he contacted us about a week after we had delivered her ... a freakin' FP&L Truck (Florida Power & Light Utility) backed in to Charles' new ride ... in his own drive-way ... WTF ?!?! So, she found her way back to the BBR shop for some badly needed TLC to get her back to the way she should/needs to be! FP&L pulled through big time ... we provided their adjuster an estimate and they cut a check immediately to the owner ... we believe our estimate was surprisingly affordable so they did not blink an eye! She is done and back in the owners possession ... good as new!!! We posted a few new shots of her on "The Bikes" Tab - photos taken at a local War Memorial Park here in Merritt Island, Florida.
April 2012:
BBR Makes a New Friend / GS650 Bobber Finds a New Home
Perfect fit or what?!?! Right On, Lynn!!!
Lynn has owned several bikes in her life and is a long time biker for sure (Harleys, Indians, Metrics ...) - she has done the Sturgis trip several times. However, she had not owned/ridden a bike for a couple years and recently decided to get back to her biker roots ... we are so happy that our path crossed Lynn's path during her search for that perfect bike she was envisioning to get back on two wheels. She saw our GS650L Bobber and loved it - she got to know the Lang Boyz a bit and had a good feeling about us. Now that she owns it and has spent some hours in the seat getting to know her new ride, she absolutely loves it! Lynn has affectionately named her new BBR ride "Scat" after her Grandfather ... we are honored Lynn!
These Rides are now at BBR awaiting their turn to be chopped-up!!!
Current Build (completed/delivered): 1982 Yamaha XJ750 Maxim
We met Steve through a customer and close friend of the shop. He wanted to get his hands on a bike he could transform in to something much more personal to suit his taste and style. So, he found/purchased the bike pictured to the right ... the former owner started to make her in to a bobber style ride; however, Steve is hoping for something a bit more refined without spending an arm and a leg ... so, his friend convinced him to speak with the BBR Brothers. After several conversations and bouncing around some foundational design concepts, his bike has made a stop in our shop ... we have commenced the process transforming her into his very own & personal ride! More to follow soon ...
Upcoming Build: Kawasaki KZ1000 CA Highway Patrol Bike
Jeff is a close friend of the shop and lives in California ... he picked-up this beast of a machine at a SoCal Police auction and has shipped it to BBR to have her transformed in to a sick-ass Cafe Racer ... what a cool project this will be - can't wait to tear in to her!!! No worries Jeff, you will definitely not be mistaken for a CHP Officer on the PCH!
Some of our Sold Bikes & Completed Commissioned Builds
Proud and Happy Owners of BBR Custom Builds!!!

March 2012: 2012 BIKE WEEK - Daytona Beach, FL !!!
Completed Build: 1974 Honda CB550Four
Daniel was very interested in buying our Yamaha XS400 Cafe Racer build; however, due to his work schedule, he could not get to us in time (and as we agreed with him, it is likely the XS was not meant for him ...). So, within a couple days of the XS being sold, he went out and found the bike with his name on it ... a 1974 CB550Four and delivered the bike to BBR for a full-on Cafe Racer conversion. We are looking forward to tearing in to her - and with the positive energy & enthusiasm from Daniel, the creative juices are already flowing - lots of ideas already being bounced around discussed!!! One interesting challenge will be the ability for him to have his girl friend on the back as a passenger (most Cafe Racers are solo-only riding ... hmmmmm!). We'll get'er done! ... actually, we got'er done and delivered her to Daniel in late March 2012! He absolutely loves his new ride!!!
January 01, 2012: The Vintage Kulture First Monthly Round-Up
The first official Monthly Vintage Kulture (VK) Round-Up in Cocoa Village, FL was a huge success. Renzo, VK's Owner and a good friend of BBR will be sponsoring this event on the first Sunday of every month going forward. Lots of bad-ass cars and bikes arrived for the first one ... there were four BBR Custom Rides at the event! Check out the pics ... we hope to see some of you folks at the next one!!! Also, BBR landed a new customer at the event - she was sold after checking out the BBR Rides that day :-) !!!
December 10, 2011: The Newest Commissioned Build Arrives at BBR
Just arrived - she needs some BBR TLC!
A New found friend has recently made the decision to have his 1990 Suzuki VX800 transformed in to something very different than the original after recently high-siding it at low speed (very lucky dude - no injuries but, the bike got banged up a bit), he was not sure what to do with her until he came across our VX800 Street Fighter on ebay and our website. After he and his Pop (another cool old school biker dude/motor-head) checked us out in person, they gave us the thumbs-up to do the transformation - just dropped her off recently. The new design is still being worked-out ... more to follow for sure. Keep a look out on our website site and facebook page as she is transformed. By the way, Brett (the bike's Owner) and his Pop are truly good people / good men ... thank you gentlemen for your military service and helping to keep us safe!!!
December 04, 2011: Merritt Island to Melbourne FL Annual Toy Run
The BBR Brothers finally took a break from the shop and spent some time participating in a local Toy Run. This happens to be the largest in Florida with roughly 5000-6000 bikes participating every year. It is such a great cause as the toys gathered go to several different organizations including several Police Departments that work hard gathering toys for children in need. We wanted to do our part so our shop donated several toys to the various organizations ... the toys are all tucked in the duffle bag strapped to the back of the Buell shown in one of the photographs. It was a great ride as the police in all of the towns along the way shutdown all intersections for this ride - no need to worry about traffic lights or stop signs the entire way! Also, there are families and many children lined-up on the street throughout most of the ride just to witness the event, wave to all of the riders and say thank you (and they all have bags waiting to load the candies being tossed to them by several of the riders)! Great Day ... but not all play as we
spent part of the day painting/clear coating various bike parts for our customers!

November 2011: Another Yamaha XS400 Custom Cafe Racer Project
Check it out! A friend of Jim's (and a good guy for sure) from the Space Industry recently stopped by the shop and asked if we could help him with his new ride ... a recent ebay purchase. It is a 1982 Yamaha XS400 that is on it's way to eventually becoming an old school Cafe Racer. She needs some TLC to get her ready for the road mechanically - in addition, the owner realizes she could use some custom BBR refinements to get her ready for the Cafe Racer scene. This Project, like most of our projects, will be completed on a tight budget - she will still look pretty freakin' cool when she is done (we are targeting mid-Dec. for the completion of this ride). Stay tuned as I will make sure to upload progress photos on her (only to a point though as we do not like to spoil the final unveil with the owners of these machines).
November 2011: The Yamaha VMax Stealth/Black-Ops Ride Complete!
The Customer recently picked her up and was just overwhelmed by the transformation his ride has undertaken. He loves the final outcome of our vision for this build - and it has far exceeded his expectations! We are so grateful that he trusted us to develop a design scheme based on our own vision and creativity. We are just as happy as this customer - we loved doing-up this bike and turning her in to a true head-turning fire breathing beast of a machine! She is now more mysterious, subtle (color scheme only) and appropriate for the Owner. The new exhaust that Jim fabricated has an awesome rumble at idle but, once you crack open the throttle, all hell breaks loose!!! See more photos under the "The Bikes" tab - thank you for checking her out! Now, on to the next Project ...
October 2011: BBR Landing Our First Commissioned Builds
It is interesting how things tend to work out ... anyway, we recently met a truly good man who happens to be back from a long stint (many years) in Afghanistan with the US Government (I wish we could tell you what he does there - lets just say it is important work, he has sacrificed a great deal already and he and his team help us all to be safer back here in the USA). Anyway, through various channels, he has reached out to BBR and has asked to build a military style/"black-ops" machine using his 1988 Yamaha VMax as the platform. This will be done on a tight budget ... we are looking forward to the challenge of hooking-up this custom ride at fairly minimal cost - it will be along the lines of a "black-ops" style scheme - very little flash, subtle design aspects and low keyed, much like the owner. We have started the chopping already. More to follow (and more details under "The Bikes" tab soon!) ...
September 2011: The BBR Team Brings Home Another Trophy
We rode two of our bikes over to the Vintage Kulture Grand Opening party and Vintage Hot Rod/Bike Show on Sept. 24, 2011 in Cocoa Village, Cocoa, Florida. Some cool rides showed-up ... sadly, our laptop's hard-drive freakin' crashed with all of the photos (along with several months of important documents/photos - rats!!!) ... these are the only ones I could scrounge up (forwarded back to me from a customer ... thank you Vincenzo - he bought the VX800 Cafe/Street Fighter pictured!). Our 1979 Honda CB750 Cafe Racer won the "Best Bike of Show" trophy ... Jim is pictured gladly accepting the trophy from the owner of Vintage Kulture, Lorenzo. We recommend you guys check out his shop via www.vintagekulture.com and/or "Like" his shop at www.facebook.com/VintageKulture. If you live in the area or are passing through, I suggest you check out his place - very cool with some awesome artwork and clothing reflecting the vintage hot-rod culture. Thank you for everything Lorenzo!!! And by the way, the CB750 Cafe Racer will be on ebay shortly for those of you interesting in her ... !!!
August 2011: The BBR Team's Shop Bobber/Ride
A close friend of ours (he goes by Renzo) has recently opened his own shop in Cocoa Village, Florida called VINTAGE KULTURE which is an art gallery and specialty retail shop inspired by the hot rod lifestyle and the legend of Ed “Big Daddy” Roth. The primary focus consists of mixing the elements of hot rods and choppers into the rockabilly movement and culture - the shop will offer a unique array of specialty hot rod apparel, stickers, lowbrow art and couture, along with a variety of accessories that any hot rodder is unlikely to resist ... and more to come. The BBR shop has recently finished a CB750K powered bobber for our shop - in discussions with Renzo, we all agreed it would be a great idea to put the bike on display at his shop - to help generate more interest and walk-in traffic in his new place and perhaps get more publicity for Bare Bone Rides. Check out more photos on "The Bikes" tab. By the way, Renzo is also the designer of our BBR Shop Sign and Tee-Shirt Logo!!! Thanks Renzo, you are the man and we wish you the very best with your new shop ... very cool so far dude!!! Check out his website www.vintagekulture.com and "Like" his shop at www.facebook.com/VintageKulture. Check out some photos of his shop and the VK/BBR Ride below:
July 2011: Jim Lang Joins the BBR Team ... FULL TIME !!!
Right On, Jim!!! Congratulations on taking that huge step and leap of faith by following your passion and your dream! Sadly, most people in this world never take this leap of faith ... for many different reasons. Bare Bone Rides could not exist without your expertise, knowledge, dedication and creativity - now, the shop will be able to design/build some sick rides much faster. Welcome Brother!!! Now, let's get busy on these builds ... we have many bikes to get done and out there to our fans!!!
June 2011: Bare Bone Rides makes it to facebook ...
Ok, after lots of assistance and recommendations from our friends, we have finally been able to get our facebook page up and running. If you want to keep us with our builds and the latest updates on BBR, then I recommend that you connect with us - all you need to do is hit the icon to the left and then "Like" our page when it loads ... have fun and as always, we encourage your thoughts, opinions and rants! Thank you!
14-May-2011: Dime City Cycles Grand Opening in Largo, FL
UPDATE: The BBR Crew headed to Largo, FL to help the good folks at Dime City Cycles celebrate their Grand Opening Event - we decided to take our XS400 Cafe Racer after just completing installation of the rear sets (the installation was a pain in the the ass and required custom aluminum fab work but, they really help to finish off our little custom bike). The Grand Opening was a huge success for Dime City Cycles ... despite the rain storm and drizzle, the turn-out was fantastic - man, lots of very very cool rides. It is tough to believe that so many folks showed-up on their bikes - many of which were entered in the "Legit Old-School Ride In 8 Class Bike Show" - check out the photos below. Jim & his wife Denice and Joseph had an awesome time and met lots of great people including making some great connections with good folks doing the same thing we are doing ... breathing life back in to these old school bikes!
So, on behalf of the BBR Crew, we would like to CONGRATULATE Jason and all of the good folks at Dime City Cycles on a hugely successful Grand Opening! The Miss Dime City USA Pin Up contestants were all beautiful, the Dive Bar Stalkers (the band) were awesome, the food was great, the beer was cold, the turn out of bikes was epic and the entire day was just plain fun! Thank you for a wonderful day! Check out some of the pics below ... let us know if you want any of these photos as I will be glad to forward the higher definition originals.

23-April-2011: Mod 'N Rockers Show in Cocoa Beach, FL
Our first build: 1981 Yamaha XS400 Special turned Custom Café Racer. On Saturday, April 23, 2011, literally just after finishing the build (bar-end mirror arrived that morning along with the new carb jet kit), we took the bike on it’s maiden ride to the First Annual Cocoa Beach, Florida Mods ‘N Rockers show. The show was being sponsored by Juice & Java and Baldino Studios (both businesses are located in Cocoa Beach, FL) and hosted by the boys at Dime City Cycles of Largo, FL (not Key Largo, FL - these guys have been featured on the Discovery HD TV Show Cafe Racer TV). It was a great turn out with lots of bikes and Café Racer enthusiasts! Dime City Cycles had three of their machines on display (and luckily not in the contest as they build awesome machines for sure). Our little bike took the Best Custom Café Racer category trophy – the Lang Brothers were freakin’ psyched about winning this trophy … on our first freakin’ build too!!! We would like to thank the good folks/judges at Dime City Cycle along with all of the sponsors and the various vendors who participated in the event. We are looking forward to next year’s show – perhaps we can even help to sponsor the next one.
